What are the advantages or disadvantages of banking in Denmark versus Switzerland and Austria?
Although Danish private banks certainly offer among the lowest annual trustee fees for portfolio maintenance, the Swiss and Austrians provide far greater privacy and confidentiality. If a client’s primary concern is privacy, then Switzerland and Austria are the logical choice, particularly for non-EU clients. The Danish government is not as strict as Switzerland and Austria where privacy issues are concerned. Although Swiss and Austrian private banks typically charge more for their services, some clients may find this acceptable if asset protection and confidentiality are a priority.
